Thank you for your interest in renting our home in the South of France. The house is built into the side of a stone hill, and so there are pieces of stone emerging through the walls! There is a lovely courtyard with a stone wall for privacy. In the summer it is shaded by the wisteria arbor, and is a wonderful area for eating meals and relaxing. In colder weather, the farm table in the kitchen provides a cozy place to dine.
There is a large, well equipped kitchen, small bathroom (with a vaulted stone ceiling), and a living room/dining room on the main floor. We have a fireplace, as well as central heating. There is enough room for 6 people, but it is most enjoyable for 2 - 4 people. Because of the danger presented by the easy accessibility to the high rocks from the side terrace and the back of the house, we do not rent to families with young children.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms (queen bed in each), and a small sitting room with a two-person foldout bed and TV. There is also a large, luxurious bathroom with a hairdryer, iron, and a washing machine. You will feel "at home" in the South of France!
The location is just right! The village of Masmolène (150 inhabitants), has no café or stores, but you are only 5 miles to the closest store or bakery. There are bigger stores and everything you will need in Uzès or Bagnols s/Cèze. Each town is only 8 miles away. The Cevènne mountains are one hour by car, as is the Mediterranean Sea. The city of Avignon is 45 minutes. Whether you like hiking, wine tasting, sightseeing, or just relaxing and being lazy, we think you will fall in love with the area just as we have!
Rent for the house is $900 per week (7 nights) for up to four people and $50 per week for each additional person. Extra nights are $100-$120 depending on the number of people. All linens are provided. There is someone who prepares the house for your arrival and cleans the house when you leave. You have the advantage of a hotel, along with the ability to make your own meals. There is the option of a locked garage for your car.
The rental period must start on a Saturday afternoon (4PM) and end on a Saturday morning (11AM). Extra nights can only be given if the house is free that following week.
The house is often reserved a year in advance, so if you are interested, please let us know as soon as possible:
A bientôt!
